"Guide to being sexy is the one for you." 2005-10-08
By J. Smithe
First, I would like to say that "The Complete Idiots Guide to Being Sexy" is much better than The Complete Idiots Guide to the Arts of Seduction. Get this Being Sexy book over that Art of Seduction book for sure. "The Complete Idiots Guide to Being Sexy" has seduction and flirting instruction that is very good, and is a whole lot more intricate than wine and flowers and eye contact. It is very detailed about seducing and flirting in specific techniques. It is worth it for this book even just for the body language chapter which is educational. Also, the chapters about celebrities and why they are sexy is very good and like nothing else I had read. The book tells specific ideas for dressing, dates, attitude. It has steps on getting over shyness. I was shy and I feel helped by this book.

"Excellent Book With Lots Of Creative Ideas" 2005-10-08
By Five Star Book
The person who wrote a review here that this book does not give more than common sense info is WRONG. Obviously, that person did not read this book! This book goes so FAR BEYOND any type basic information. It is VERY GOOD! It gives the most creative ideas -- things I never had thought of, and I've thought a lot about sex and sexiness. This book even has a whole section about how to make sex sexier, and illustrations of sexual positions. It has all that in addition to details of sexy things like how to dress sexier, how to strip, sexy dates, even sexier kissing and oral sex ideas. Plus it has self esteem exercises that are just plain good and helpful. Very worth getting.

"Nothing More Than Common Sense" 2005-10-07
By R. Laxton
If you're looking for anything more than just common sense advice, look elsewhere. Here's every bit of advice this book has to offer: be confident, dress well, practice good hygiene, don't be rude and realize that everyone is sexy in someone's eyes. That's it. The book has nothing more to offer.

"VERY SEXY AND FUN BOOK" 2002-08-12
By
This book has a lot of great ideas of sexy ways to dress and act. If you need a boost in self-esteem, it helps a lot, with actual daily things to do to increase self-esteem. It worked for me. It has really good ideas on flirting and help on what to do when you want to attract someone. I liked that it talked about how to use different styles of being sexy (like very seductive, or more laid-back and mysterious). My favorite parts of the book told details of what types of sexy gifts to give, and where are good sexy places for dates to go. I have so many ideas now for good places to go on dates, and things like that. It is a really fun book with a lot to put to use. Even with actual stuff about HAVING sex, it has good ideas that most people will find give them something new.

 "Excellent publicity resource" 2008-09-07
By Anne Lagache (Orinda, CA, USA)
I volunteered to be the publicist of a non-profit group then searched Amazon and the library for a comprehensive reference how-to book. This book is IT. The first part of the book is, I'd like to say, background reading which explains to you the reader what you've gotten yourself into. The last part of the book shows you what you have to do to be a really good publicist. It's called "A crash course in Publicity." The book has everything in it that you need. I just wish my Board would read some of it so we could follow a publicity plan which this book highly recommends - and I think it is a great idea. It's a hardback which is Really good because you'll be referring to it often. I highly recommend this book if you need a comprehensive reference book on publicity.

"A COMPLETE AND THOROUGH GUIDE TO PUBLICITY" 2008-05-03
By Gian Fiero (Hollywood, California)
After teaching two semesters of publicity at San Francisco State, I ordered about 6 publicity books off of Amazon and I read them all cover-to-cover.

The Complete Guide To Publicity was the best in terms of accuracy, thoroughness, and real-life application.

Joe's years of experience and casual writing style makes the valuable information contained throughout this book very easy to digest and comprehend. It deals with, and focuses on, the principles and philosophies of publicity as they relate to the business professional who is attempting to maximize the visibility of their product, service or organization. It's an older book with no mention of the Internet, but the education provided is applicable.

For students who are interested in a publicity primer before - or in lieu of - taking a course in publicity, this is the book to get...and it's practically free here on Amazon.

Marconi obviously knows what he's talking about. He knows how great publicity is. I'm struggling to get my band into the papers and I'm tryin' and I'm tryin' and I keep getting the hard slap to the face. I mean, how are people gonna know where we're playin'?!

I loved this book! I liked Michael Levine's Guerrilla PR: Wired more, especially for the net stuff. But, Marconi is a good all-arounder. Totally covers all the stuff from the net to the unnet. Lots o' tips and stuff. Like I said, Marconi knows what he's talking 'bout.

Great stuff!

 "A great publicity primer!" 2000-11-04
By Adam F. Jewell (Pittsburgh, PA USA)
Everything presented in this book will help those charged with the task of generating publicity. Fundamentally, it must be remembered that publicity is just that, it is not paid advertising, it must be managed, but cannot be completely controlled. The goal of the publicist is to provide relevant, newsworthy, information, which will be deemed to be of interest to a target audience. Present the media with an honest, credible, story, that will help them accomplish their goals (attracting more viewers, selling more papers or magazines, or attracting more interested readers to a web site) and your story is more likely to be heard by those you desire to reach.

"The Complete Guide to Publicity" clearly defines publicity, what it is and is not, what to expect from a publicity effort, as well as the particulars to consider when dealing with various media and attempting to target specific audiences with your story.

An excellent introduction to the strategy and structure of a publicity campaign!

 "great general introduction" 2008-12-12
By Brian T. Frazier (Dallas Texas USA)
This book presents a great way to learn and master the tricky skills that must become instinctive for any good mountain bike rider. It also has plenty of helpful advice on practically everything from how to find the right bike to how to bike through snow. The only drawback is it's age. It seems to be written before the time of the internet and decent rear shock designs.

"Good for a quick read." 2007-01-13
By Stanley D. Wolfersberger (Ohio)
The book is a bit outdated by today's standards but still presents a few good tips aimed squarely at the beginner. An updated version with a greater emphasis on current trends (the plethora of clipless pedals and the proliferation of full-suspension rigs, as well as the concept of cyclocross) would probably help to advance the level of content just enough to entice beginners and those in the first year or two of their riding development.

I wish there was a more helpful review from this website before I purchased the book, the only reason i am looking at the book on amazon right now is to check how much money i wasted. 10 dollars which is alright iwth me. i'll still read it, thru the course of the yeaer maybe.

honestly, this book cant be applied to me. It is written by a road biker gone mountain biking and maybe it will be more suitable for the same type of ppl. He starts off really dry and comparing everything to the feel and how its done in the flip side of road biking.

the book contains this ridiculous 3 month day by day guideline of how you should approach the mountain biking and the sectoin about choosing ur mountain bike and etc is just plain ambiguous and unhelpful.

i dont mean to bag on this book but after reading other books (like lee/lopez's mtb skills) i was blown away at literary style along with EXCELlent application to beginners and pros. and its downright fun to read. makes me not wanna go back to this purple book but i will after i finsih lee's.

i know this wasnt a helpful review either but please consider reading INSIDE the book before purchasing. i learned my lesson.

 "Not what I thought" 2006-11-05
By Dorothy E. Siefer (Hendersonville, NC)
I am doing my own hair for my wedding. This book has a wedding section so I thought it would work. It did not.

Unless you like the kind of hairstyles that are impossible to maintain and that you only see on a runway model, do not buy this book. The majority of the styles are odd and not for every day life. If you are the kind of woman who doesn't believe in spending more than 25 minutes on your hair, Do Not buy this book. These styles take at least an hour to complete and are very hard to do at all.

There is one good thing about this book. It does give good advise on coloring and conditioning. So, if that is what you are looking for, do buy it.

This book led me to believe I was purchasing a hairstyle book. In reality it is only good for hair treatment, because of the unrealistic quality of the styles that they offer.

Basic hair care/styling advice throughout the book, very good for someone who wants more general knowledge on hair products, styles, how to take care of but it wasn't very detailed.

there was a cute story throughout the book of 4 friends living their lives and each chapter related a hair issue to what information about hair was written next. for example one chapter a girl was going on vacation so there was advice on what to do with your hair when traveling.

fantastic pictures, especially in the wedding section beautiful hair styles

the book was very well put together and is a nice, enjoyable read...I finally learned what exactly a chignon was and how to create it!

This book reminds me more of a teen magazine than an adult, "get the job done" book. The pictures seemed more intent on selling figures than hair. There are some good tips on how to do hair, but not on styles and step-by-step procedures. I am returning the book.

 "hairstyling book" 2008-02-26

Initially I ordered this book for myself but the styles were complicated as well as geared to bridal looks and I was looking for everyday looks. I gave it to my daughter who is getting married in June.

"It was just okay..not that great." 2007-10-21
By Marriette T. Fanco (Pomona, CA)
I liked this book because it has some good hairstyles and hair care tips and techniques but for the size of the book I thought it would have a lot more hairstyles than it did. and I dont really like the whole storyline of the four girls either. so I give it a four. now im looking for a book thats just hairstyles and techniques with step by step insructions. What I thought this book would be like.

"good advice, cute story, excellent pictures" 2006-08-11
By D. M. (New York City)
